The Alaska State Hospital & Nursing Home Association (ASHNHA) is a membership organization representing Alaska’s hospitals, nursing homes, home health and hospice agencies, and other health care providers. Our mission is to advance the shared interests of the health care industry to build an innovative, sustainable system of care for all Alaskans. Our membership spans geographically from PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center to Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital in Utqiaġvik. For over 60 years, ASHNHA members have worked to improve health care in Alaska.
We are looking for a Communications Director who will develop, implement, and monitor communications, media relations, digital strategies and advocacy plans in support of ASHNHA’s strategic plan.
The successful candidate will be an expert communicator who utilizes tools and strategies to effectively tell members’ stories and advocacy priorities. This position works closely with senior leadership and program directors to build campaigns that increase awareness of ASHNHA priority issues. As a critical member of the ASHNHA team, this position must work cooperatively and collaboratively within the organization.

- Bachelor’s degree preferably in communications, business, or health care fields.
- Four years of experience working in a communications, marketing, public relations, legislative or advocacy environment.
The position is located at the ASHNHA Juneau office, but Anchorage-based candidates will be considered. Alaska is known for its diverse culture and history, hunting and fishing, world-class scenery, and opportunities for adventure.
