The Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association represents hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care organizations. We are a recognized leader in state health care policy. Our membership spans geographically from PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center to Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital in Utqiaġvik. Our diverse association unites every small rural hospital and large hospital system in the state around common goals. We’re looking for a Director, Quality and Performance Improvement who will lead, develop, implement, and facilitate hospital and nursing home quality and process improvement activities to achieve the triple aim (quality of care – patient experience and clinical quality, population health, and cost of care) across the continuum of care statewide.

The successful candidate will provide ASHNHA members with technical support, including including site visits, training, in-person and webinar education events, and facilitating access to quality improvement/patient safety resources.. The Director will communicate and work closely with members and stakeholders on the prioritization of patient safety strategies.  This position is a critical member of the ASHNHA team and must work cooperatively and collaboratively within the organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or health-related field, with a preference for a master’s degree and/or RN credential.
  • Five years related work experience including experience in quality or process improvement in a hospital or clinical setting.

The position is located in the ASHNHA Juneau office, but Anchorage-based candidates will be considered. Regular travel is required to beautiful communities throughout the state for site visits and meetings.
