Partnership for Patients

ASHNHA is partnering with the Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) to participate in the CMS Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) through a contract which began Sept 2016. This initiative builds upon the success of the Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) and continues the Partnership for Patients Initiative.

Since the launch of the Partnership for Patients, in collaboration with many other stakeholders, the vast majority of U.S. hospitals have demonstrated unprecedented national reductions in harm. The current Partnership for Patients goal is 20% reduction in all-cause patient harm. Working with CMS in the first round of Partnership for Patients, we saved 23,000 patients from harm and reduced $336 million in health care spending.

Participating hospitals are working to reduce harm in 15 areas with multiple measures
