The Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association (ASHNHA) is a non-profit trade association established in 1953. ASHNHA represents hospitals, nursing homes, home health, hospice, and other healthcare organizations across Alaska. This rich composition of private, federal, state, and tribal health care facilities enables ASHNHA to provide a balanced viewpoint on important health care policy matters.
Our membership is distributed across Alaska’s vast expanse of over half a million square miles, from PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center in Southeast Alaska to Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital in Utqiaġvik, north of the Arctic Circle.
ASHNHA serves its members through a variety of services, including policy and advocacy expertise, education and training, quality and patient safety, and workforce support.
ASHNHA membership also includes Associate Members and Allied Member organizations - physician groups, clinics, health care consultants, insurance companies, or other businesses that support the health care industry - whose purpose and objectives are compatible with ASHNHA's vision and mission.
