The Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association (ASHNHA) is a non-profit trade association established in 1953. ASHNHA represents all of Alaska's 26 hospitals, 21 nursing homes, and home health & hospice providers, along with other health care partners across Alaska.
This rich composition of private, federal, state, and tribal health care facilities enables ASHNHA to provide a balanced viewpoint on important health care policy matters.
Our membership is distributed across Alaska’s vast expanse of over half a million square miles, from PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center in Southeast Alaska to Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital in Utqiaġvik, north of the Arctic Circle.
ASHNHA serves its members through a variety of services, including policy and advocacy expertise, education and training, quality and patient safety, and workforce support.
ASHNHA membership also includes Associate Members - physician groups, clinics, health care consultants, insurance companies, or other businesses that support the health care industry - whose purpose and objectives are aligned with ASHNHA's vision and mission.
ASHNHA does not endorse or recommend associate member organizations, nor do we enter into exclusive partnerships with any vendors or service providers who hold associate membership.
To become an associate member, organizations must complete an application that will be reviewed by the Executive Committee for election.
