Over 50 ASHNHA members attended the Legislative Fly-In Board Meeting on Monday February 18-19, 2013. The meeting gave members an opportunity to hear from DHSS Commissioner Streur and Department of Administration Commissioner Hultberg along with dinner speaker Senate Finance Co-chair Kevin Meyer. Jay Livey from ANTHC gave a detailed presentation on Medicaid expansion, Rebecca Madison spoke about the Health Information Exchange, and Margaret Brodie and Karen Darby gave updates from Medicaid Services. Members were also given the chance to be introduced during the the House Floor Session. Three ASHNHA member presented at the House HESS Committee Meeting on an overview of Alaska’s Hospitals and Nursing Homes.
